TEMPEST at Battery Innovation Days 2025

TEMPEST participated in the fifth edition of the Battery Innovation Days 2025, its third time taking part in this flagship European event. Held on 2–3 December in Graz, Austria, the event gathered 600 participants onsite and 1,000 online, featuring 35 exhibitors, 22 sponsors and more than 65 speakers from across the European battery and mobility ecosystem.

As a member of the EU-INGENIOuS cluster, TEMPEST joined forces with fellow Horizon Europe projects to highlight advances supporting Europe’s shift to a competitive, sustainable and resilient automotive and battery landscape. The cluster’s joint session, ‘Driving Change: The EU Automotive Action Plan and Its Battery Breakthroughs,’ was presented by Lisa Lou Gracias and explored how coordinated European research efforts are accelerating next-generation battery technologies and enabling the transformation of the automotive sector. The session emphasised the role of EU-INGENIOuS projects in strengthening supply chains, improving safety and performance, and reducing environmental impact.

Over the two main conference days, TEMPEST coordinator Jeremy Warren also supported the EU-INGENIOuS booth, where the cluster projects presented its latest results.

Jeremy also represented the project throughout the event. On 1 December, he attended the COLLABAT workshops, engaging with experts and stakeholders to exchange insights on battery innovation, digitalisation and industrial uptake.
